Learn what each citation shows, how to open the original, and how Delphi labels medical device content and handles gaps. Every statement in a Delphi answer is cited to a source in Delphi's libraries or a file you've uploaded. It does not use the open web, unlike general AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. - **Licensed libraries.** Textbooks, journals, videos and surgical images from orthopaedic publishers, societies and surgeons, including partners such as Wolters Kluwer and JOEI. - **PrecisionOS Knowledge Base.** PrecisionOS's own educational content and support articles. - **Your uploads.** Preference cards, images and documents you add to your chats. To see which libraries your plan includes, or to add more, select **Library** in the left sidebar. New libraries are added regularly. **Reading a citation** Each citation identifies exactly where a statement came from: | **Source type** | **What the citation shows** | | --- | --- | | Textbook | Title, edition, chapter, chapter author and page | | Journal article | Title, authors, journal and DOI | | Video | Title and presenter; the video starts at the relevant step | | Image | The figure from its source, shown in your answer | | Your upload | The name of the file you uploaded | To check a source: 1. Select the citation number next to a statement. 2. The source opens beside or over your answer, depending on your device, and shows the referenced textbook text, image or video. 3. Select **Read** or **Watch** in that window to open the original source. **Medical device content and gaps** **Medical device content is always labelled.** Delphi includes technique guides from many medical device companies. Each one names the company, so you can tell industry material apart from academic sources such as textbooks and journals. Delphi also keeps device content out of answers based on academic sources, unless you ask for both. You'll often see a **Medical Device Companies** option among the follow-up questions. Select it for device-specific technique content from Delphi's libraries. **Delphi says when it can't answer.** If the libraries in your plan don't support an answer, Delphi tells you instead of guessing. You can rephrase the question, ask about a related topic or add libraries to your plan. **Something looks wrong?** Select the thumbs-down icon under the answer and add a short comment.
