A new or existing Meta account will be required to set up your headset.
In order to use the Meta Quest headset, a Meta account is required, so you will need to have one before you can complete the initial hardware setup. We will also need the email address linked to the Meta account in order to assign the PrecisionOS applications to your headset.
- If you already have a Meta account then we will collect that information from you at the appropriate time, and assign our apps accordingly.
- If you do not already have a Meta account, then one will need to be created, and there are two options for that:
- You can create a new Meta account using an email address, Facebook account, or Instagram account. When you first put on your headset, you’ll get a code that you can use to pair your headset with the Meta/Oculus mobile app (available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store). From there, you can continue with Facebook or Instagram or use your email address to create a Meta account. You can create a new Meta account here.
- Allow us to create a privileged user account on your behalf; then you can configure your hardware with the credentials we provide.
- We can assist you in setting up your headset with ArborXR, which provides an intuitive interface and a centralized platform to help you manage your headsets.
Note: We can assign apps to any Meta account, including personal ones, but we recommend using a separate, non-personal account if other users will have access to the hardware.
