# Muting or unmuting your microphone on Meta Quest

## To turn your microphone on or off on Meta Quest:

1. Press ![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/assets/?revision=186699697812610&name=oculus-metabt-icon&density=1) / ![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/assets/?revision=186699697812610&name=oculus-oculus-icon&density=1) on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
2. Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
3. Select ![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/assets/?revision=186699697812610&name=oculus-microphoneon-icon&density=1) or ![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/assets/?revision=186699697812610&name=oculus-microphoneoff-icon&density=1) to mute or unmute your microphone.

Note: When your microphone is muted, ![](https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/assets/?revision=186699697812610&name=oculus-microphoneoff-icon&density=1) will turn red.
