Onboarding Guide

The steps below will guide you through your first VR session and ensure you get the most out of the PrecisionOS system. Completing the action items before moving to the next step is recommended.

1. VR requirements

First and foremost, make sure your headset is fully charged. This will prevent any interruptions during your VR session. Additionally, ensure that you have access to a Wi-Fi network for seamless connectivity.

It is also important to find a suitable location with enough room to move around comfortably. The recommended space for an optimal VR experience is approximately 6.5 feet by 6.5 feet. This will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the virtual environment without any restrictions.

Actions

✅ Your headset is charged.
✅ You have a Wi-Fi network available to connect to.
✅ You are in a location with some room to move. 6.5ft x 6.5ft recommended.

2. Wearing your VR headset

Once you are ready to wear your VR headset, follow the steps in this video tutorial to ensure a comfortable fit and clear visuals. Begin by turning on the headset. Next, adjust the straps, lenses, and headset arms until the headset rests gently on your face and the picture appears clear. Avoid over-tightening the sidestraps, as this can lead to headaches. Finding the right balance between a secure fit and comfort is key.

Actions

✅ Turn on the headset
✅ Adjust straps, lenses, and headset arms until headset is resting gently on your face and the picture is clear.

3. Creating your guardian boundary

After adjusting your headset, it's time to create your guardian boundary. The guardian boundary defines where the headset can be used within your physical space. Using the roomscale boundary option is recommended if you have at least 6.5 x 6.5 feet of space to move around in. Make sure you correctly set the floor height.

Actions:

✅ Select roomscale when creating your guardian boundary
✅ Set the floor to the correct height
✅ Outline the physical space you have available for VR
