I'm stuck, I can't log-in?

When starting up a new module I get stuck and I don't have any hands and I can't do anything.

What to do:

This disappearing hands issue can be solved by quickly double-clicking the power button on your headset.

Performing a quick double-click on the power button initiates a reset process. During this time, a brief black screen may appear for a moment. Once the reset is complete, your VR hands and controllers will sync up, allowing you to seamlessly proceed with your procedure.

For ArborXR users, you may encounter an ArborXR screen after double-clicking the power button. Simply select "Resume" on the ArborXR screen to seamlessly continue with your procedure.

Why did my hands disappear a second time?

When you begin a session, you first launch a program called Launcher where you choose your user account, followed by starting your module (such as Anatomy). The issue of disappearing hands can potentially happen during each these startup processes, although it is not a common occurrence.

Why did my headset power off?

There is a risk that if you slowly press the power button the headset will enter its power-down cycle.  To avoid this, press the power button more quickly.

Background

This problem occurs right at the beginning of a module and does not occur during a procedure. If you look at the Virtual OR floor, you may notice that your VR hands are visible but stuck in the floor.

The disappearing hands issue is somewhat unpredictable, occasionally happening once or even twice during module startup, or sometimes not at all.

Our engineering team is investigating the cause of this issue, which appears to stem from a temporary communication glitch between your headset and it's hand controllers as your module starts.

This problem can affect all modules on Quest2 and Quest3 headsets, as well as headsets managed using ArborXR software.
